Keralites have the longest life span among all states in India. But their diet mainly consist of coconut, coconut oil, beef and duck and its eggs along with fish. Apart from fish all other items are labeled as food with high cholesterol contend. Then what is the reason for their longevity ?
We also eat a lot of varieties of vegetables compared to other states. We dont eat much potatoes unlike others. We use less oil in cooking. We dont fry vegetables in oil unlike others. In most vegetable dishes, we add a little coconut oil at the end. That way , the oil consumption is much less. We dont eat fried items (like Pakoras and Bajjis). Most of our snacks are steamed. We dont eat sweets rich with ghee and sugar. Our sweets are mild and prepared with jaggery.

As you say coconut, it is the purest thing nature has produced. We can say what sweet water is when we drink coconut water. This purest water is available away from earth, or clouds, filtered by nature; who can produce such pure water; who else can drink more pure water than Keralites do. Josnaji, the more we go away from nature, the more nature rejects us.
some of the other things that also determine the life span, are the set of genes that you inherit, the medical facilities that are available to you, the social and economical living standards, the weather and the environment around you (which is not too polluted).
So enjoy your cholesterol laden food, while you can, without bothering too much.
