VVIPs visits cannot be avoided altogether. At least if it is planned and executed meticulously a lot of inconvenience can be avoided to the public.

Raj Bhavan to Gorai, if I am not mistaken, for the inaugration of the vipasna centre, asias largest pagoda on a no-development zone. And the helicopter was not for saving the citizens the vows of traffic jam. The distance between Raj Bhavan and Gorai is very far. The only road way is all the way from Bahayandar. Why the authorities didn't think of using a coast guard boat.

After the near miss that President's chopper had from colliding with an Aircraft at the Mumbai Airport and became a threat to the life of 148 passenger and 7 crew who were in the Air India aircraft, it would be better if VIP continue to travel by road. At least these VIPs don't run down people when they travel by road.
