It is generally called Diesel Egine on a train. but the fact is it it is Electrical engine . do you know why.?

The diesel engine on th train is actually a huge diesel powered generator, and the electricity so gnerated is used for the traction of the train. So, the diesel trains are actually electric trains. using the electricty produced by the train's diesel generator, for its locomotion.
