Here is this quote by Errol Morris, I don't believe truth is conveyed by style and presentation. I don't think that if it was grainy and full of handheld material, it would be any more truthful.

While it is better to be real and show your true self than get into a relationship as someone you are not. It is basically saying, Do not lie to your self or others just to improve your self image. It is also desirable to be truthful and presenting your best as required.
