Q.

It is a very big field that is central & state taxes like service tax, excise duty etc all over India is highly corrupt and no body has been caught so far. I have some personal experiences how they extort service tax and encourage to practice it. Mr Kejrilal should talk out then only people might believe to some extent.

He has held high position in Govt of India and knows all about this first hand. When he talks about this, he is being targeted by the main parties who have corrupt people in their parties and even the media. But people listen to him because the people know that what he talks is the truth.

As an Additional Commissioner of Income Tax. Kejriwal must have issued scores of demand notices , but as an Adjudicating Authority could he uphold all the demands, or if he has done so, could the adjudication orders stood the scrutiny of higher appellate forum? He disturbed the administration with bogus RTI application to draw the attention of the people who are having an anti-establishment mind. Now, you may test his shrewdness by filing an RTI asking how many demand notices issued by him were not ultimately confirmed by him.

It is wrong to hold him as single solution to all problems.

Actually most restaurants change Service Tax.....and then a small tax which they may call "service charge"....Service tax is 12.36% on the 40% of the bill...while Service Charge is for the restaurant i.e. tip!!! In all bills et 12.36% is charged on entire amount while most ppl pay tip despite paying service charge which is wrong!!! Another nominal amount is the states VAT which inturn depends on the items consumed......but normally this is changed on flat highest rate in the state......where this amount goes......need not tell further!!!
