Q.

It did not really matter what we expected from life,
but rather what life expected from us.
We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life,
and instead to think of ourselves as those who were
being questioned by lifedaily and hourly.
Our answer must consist, not in talk and meditation,
but in right action and in right conduct.
Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find
the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks
which it constantly sets for each individual."

Very meaningful phrase. Life is a journey where your decisions and actions, which are guided by your thoughts, values, principles pave the way for your future. In a nut shell the phrase implies - Your future lies in your hands - . Your progress would depend on how responsible you are and the way you handle all issues before you.

Each individual would have his or her own perception about life and responsibilities. After all, our perspective towards life a ...more

Earthworms, eagles and orangutans (and all other animals) do not ask about the meaning of life. They are born, give birth, kill or get killed and ultimately go individually extinct without ever bothering to talk or meditate (or having the capacity to do so). Yet these creatures seem to be in harmony with themselves and everything around them. Their actions are always the right ones and their conduct is also always right.
So, if we can learn from the way a cockroach lives there would be no problem in answering the questions which life asks us regarding right action, right conduct taking the responsibility, etc.
