God created this magnificent universe, all life forms, and nature in totality. Humans are just one part of his creation among many and are considered as the highest in the hierarchy or level of creation. From a spiritual point of view its said, the cycle of birth and death evolves the soul. This evolution is connected to the theory of action and reaction or acts and deeds one does. This results in karmic deeds, which shows your destiny. So probably, for the soul to get evolved to a higher level through the cycle of birth and death God created humans.

Its also said, the evolution of the human being is like a spiritual journey that takes you ultimately to God, which results in moksha or the liberation from the cycle of birth and death. All this implies the purpose of creation leads to a process of spiritual evolution.

God created Humans to worship Him...All other creation of God have no free will except Humans and Jinns...Angels were created without any free will means they never disobey God almighty..That's why God has named Humans as highest creation of all because they have this "free will" with which they beat everything else in the universe...they are ready to spend a life in the way of God's without even seeing Him just because they chose to believe in Him....God has guided humans time and again by sending His messengers to every nation in every time...God expects us to worship...meaning willfully be obedient to God in everything we do openly, secretly, loudly or silently, sitting or standing or walking or every single breath we take...God has created this universe and set forth physical laws governing it...similarly He has set forth moral laws to guide human behavior and relations with each other that are just in cause...Worshiping God will not bring a minute change in His majesty but it is f ...more

I am not sure any one would truly know the answer, except for the creator himself or the enlightened ones like Buddha, Sankara, Ramakrishna Paramahansa and Vivekananda.

The noble Quran says:-(51:56) I created the jinn and humans for nothing else but that they may serve Me;53
Explanation:-*53 That is, "I have not created them for the service of others but for My own service. They should serve Me, for I am their Creator. When no one else has created them, no one else has the right that they should serve him; and how can it be admissible for them that they should serve others instead of Me, their Creator?" Here, the question arises that Allah Almighty is not the Creator only of the jinn and men but of the entire Universe and of every thing in it. Then, why has it been said only about the jinn and men that He has not created them for the service of others but of Himself ? whereas every single creature is there to serve Allah. The answer is: On the earth only the jinn and men have been granted the freedom that they may serve Allah within their sphere of choice if they so like; otherwise they can turn away from Allah's service as well as serve others besi ...more
