The final reports for the Ishrat Jahan encounter filed by the Ahmedabad metropolitan magistrate S.P. Tamang has finally come out and it proves to be be kind of setback for the Narendra Modi government. The controversial 2004 incident, for which the Modi government had already faced a lot of flak, has been judged to be an incident of another fake encounter case.

In the hand written report based on the encounter, which extends up to 243 pages, magistrate Tamang has highlighted the name of the then Gujarat police encounter specialist, D.G. Vanzara and others involved in the incident and accused them of the cold blooded murder of the 19 year old graduate student and three others.

Vanzara and quite a few of the others are already serving time in prison in regard to the Sohrabuddin encounter case, in which the State government has already confessed in front of the Supreme Court to be a case of fake encounter.
