Here we have a Central Minister in the Union Cabinet for the first time, who can speak neither english nor hindi and is conversant with only tamil. Recently, he was upraided for not answering the questions related to his ministry by the speaker. I wonder how he is roaming around in the corridors of power, like a joker, who is trying to master the art of sign language.

He is the Minister for a key portfolio Fertilisers and Chemicals, the former crucial to our agriculture. I wonder how he is even able to attend to important matters and discuss key issues with top officials. Or he would be doing exactly what Zardari used to - close and open the hand once meant - 5%, twice meant 10% and he would nod his head, whatever it was. Quite possible Azahagiri is doing the same thing. He couldn't care less as long as his cut is ensured going by the huge subsidy payments which are to be released based on the recommendation of his ministry to the Fertiliser companies.

He has simply been dumped ...more
