These people are not able to afford a proper house, and that puts them into the slum. This is a fact.

But do not just have filmy opinion about slum dwellers.

Not all slum dwellers are garib-bechaaraa types. There are some land mafias, there are some who run their manufacturing businesses at much cheaper cost of production, there are so many who live and work within the area in such factories. Most of them form a part of parallel economy, which has much less to do with what numbers the stock market listed companies show on their balance sheets, and absolutely nothing to do with facebook and rediff qna gurus.

Changing a slum to the well built colony, a shopping complex, a residential complex is definitely possible from infrastructure point of view, but not from this parallel-economy point of view.
