As per Islam charity is given an importance. Prophet (Peace be upon him) has narrated to his followers that when you feed an orphan once he will gain a point to enter paradise. So I absolutely follow this. I never give to homes or orphnages because it is beyond my financial position. But whenever a person with hunger comes to me I see that he get a times meal. I also follow the practice of feeding one person every week, which is within my reach. Hence charity is most important and you will reward from your Lord the creator

I generally do not give anything to a poor on a day o day basis but every month my first expense of about Rs 600/- from my salary, I donate to Shridi Sai temple as my contribution for poor feeding. Once a year I pay for the expense towards school books and bags for two of our servant maid's Children.
