It doesnt seem to be likely as the new Maruti Alto has the most desired features & is well priced too to suit the lower middle income group. Also, Maruti's brand image as a common man's car maker would be tough to surpass for Tata through Nano which may get a greater market share but wont be able to match upto Maruti Alto!!

No, Nano will die a natural death as other small cars like Dolphin or Reva did in the past. The biggest draw back of Nano is the service. Tata is not geared to service passenger car owners. Their service centers are more suited for handling commercial vehicle drivers than private who look for good customer relationship . This is because almost all models of passenger vehicles from Tata's stable become fleet cars to be used as taxis. Moreover Nano does not have power steering. One looking for a small or an entry level car would be better off buying an Alto or EON or Spark than Nano If initial cost is a factor then it makes

With the current get up ,price n look,I don't think so.Maruti will continue to dominate the market for the middle income group, particularly,it's new Alto. However,if a new Nano with a better features is launched, things may change better for Tata.

Prior to launch of TATA NANO I alrady have a Mariti ALTO ... but as I observe the recent NANO has been renovated than the earlier one's and gives all the amenities of an average car a customer needs...and backed by the age old TATA legacy of quality control.....yes really a good car at most affordable price....
