Get to Chennai and drive down - just 3 hours. There s a train too from Chennai which is 2 to 2 and half hours

Go to Bokaro and take the Bokaro Madras,it will drop you in Vellore.

Come down to Howrah and catch howrah to Chennai or howrah to Keral bound trains and get down at Katpadi junction.From Katpadi junction hire an Auto and go Vellore.
