The only advantage (which by itself is not an advantage at all in any sense) is probably that the person may really come to believe that he or she is living in a comfort zone, not wanting to know anything outside of it and not prepared to take any risk in life to explore anything out of it mostly in fear that the very comfort zone feeling would be gone for ever. In the process, it would be a stagnant existence and the mind would slowly and irretrievably fold within itself to a narrow view of this whole world.

If we are to live our life to the full extent, it is imperative that we explore every possibility in our life. It may involve walking into an unknown domain, changing our complete perspective on everything, making allowances for change to seep inside us and walking a new path. You have to realise that, unless you try you wouldn't even know your own capability and I am sure, there will always be exhilaration at the awareness of one's strengths and ability. Thus, for those who ar ...more

There is neither a need to seek comfort zones or danger zones. People who do that are in the extremes and are unbalanced. U just have to be where ur life gets u to.........and do what u can, to the best of ur ability and wisdom! But, life by its very nature is fraught with danger. U can only live dangerously or choose not to live (vegetate) !

Ha...ha...ha ...is there any choice ???.........I have given the name of comfort zone as cowdung zone ...Cowdungs falls on the ground and remain there until somebody takes it and laps in the wall to make cow dung cakes . Again they stay there only till someone take them out burns them till they are transformed into ashes . Most of us are like this cowdung only , don't want to dream , discover , explore ...not willing to take risk and want to stay in our comfort zone only , ultimately just go to ashes...........why to look beyond boundary and stretch out of the box will be a combo of Ramayana and Mahabharata but the best heard and used prabachan of my life is "The trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more. The biggest risk in life is to risk nothing at all "

I think, yes.. If we cross our comfort zone due to some allurement or compulsion, we can commit some mistakes.. This can be experienced when we wear a new type of dress.. Or we are among totally unfriendly people. While eating too, when the food is known, we are in comfort zone. But when we feel food is made in fish oil, or when we are told the dish is made of snakes, the very knowledge can throw us out of comfort.

I tell you frankly that staying in comfort zone is not at all in our interest. It means no progress, no ambitions and meaningless life. One gets bored after sometimes, but finds it difficult to motivate himself. Life out of the comfort zone is exciting and thrilling, full of challenges and achievements.

Efficiency gets effected if u r nt in ur comfort zone.....decisions do nt get due attention if you r nt in your comfort zone....best of the relationships look like ordinary if u r nt in ur comfort zone....n as a whole , life looks worthless , if u r nt in your comfort zone....therefore , to have a life worth meaningful n lovely , perhaps each of us first try to concentrate towards things which cud bring reasonably each of us within this zone. in fact , we cant play wid it....its a compulsion for eah of us.

Life loses its' meaning when you get stuck up in comfort zone. Nobody ever died of discomfort, yet living in the name of comfort has killed more ideas, more opportunities, more actions and more growth than everything else combined. Comfort kills you many a time. A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown to stretch yourself out of the box, Anu :-)

Hi Anuja, Comfort zones are necessary in everyone's life . Even birds and and animals can be seen busy making comfort zones for them. But these comfort zones are only for all to relax after a days struggle and hard work. Comfort zones should not be such to forget others around us, their difficulties and lead a selfish life .If a crisis is there in our living society or environment , we cannot close our eyes ,remain indifferent and stay in the comfort of our comfortzones .We definitely have to come out and see what can we do from our side to overcome the crisis, our society or environment is facing. Only if we give our valuable and sincere contribution as required , others will come for our help when we are in trouble.Only advantage is that , it gives us comfort , but dis adavantage is such that we may show negelegence towards what is behind us or outside our comfort zone. There are children ,even some people who refuse to mingle with the rest of the family or close related pe ...more
