Sir Saurav Ganguly
He has an excellent leadership skill. He was most of the times a match winner in himself for India in Critical matches not only by his own performances but also managing his troops & resources. He was great becoz since he was a contemporary leader during his tenure where he played against the great Teams.....Australia was the unbeatable team....he beat them in India n abroad. South Africa the most difficult Team to beat in International Cricket, West Indies with the kind of pace attack & Sir Brian Lara, Carl Hooper. England was one of her best during his tenure. New Zealand with the kind of attack.....and Pakistan......I remember that Inspite of having Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Inzamam Ul Haq, Yousuf Youhana, Afridi.....were at their best. Actually I thank one more person in Indian Cricket who lead the way to India's supremacy in World Cricket in today's time...Mohd Azharuddin......what a leader he was. The kind of team he had.....hats off to Him to ...more

Its too early to compare Dhoni and ganguly at this stage. It has been only a couple of series in ODI where Dhoni has led team India and only 1 Test series.

Ganguly is the best test captain till date, and will take a lot of time to surpass that record. And it was ganguly's team that made it to the finals of ODI WC. Dhoni still has to face the acid test.

You cant judge a captain in a bunch of series, you'll have to give him (dhoni) time to prove his real captaincy.

I really wish that Dhoni turns out to be the better one, that will give us a chance to get the ODI WC back to our country

U cant compare past and present. But i wont give any politically correct answer.According to me M.S.Dhoni is the better captain and he is far ahead of Saurav Ganguky. He has high level of confidence and leads by example. The India-Sri Lanka series is th biggest example to prove my point.Dada was better in getting out the best from the players and Dhoni is master in leading from the front. The team members regards him highly and he commands respect from hi.His credentials cannot be declined.T-20 world cup, series win against Pak,In Australia winning C series and most recently Test series win against Aus and one day win against Englishmen. What else you can ask from a man who is in hot seat from the last 1 year only.He himself remains calm in tense situations and backs his men.The biggest incident is giving Joginder final over in T-20 world cup.How many captains in the world would have done that??? He is extremely confident about his decisions and if he fails takes the responsbility on himself ...more

Definitely sourav because he got the captaincy when the was nothing but a skeleton.a very few guys were there to play.from that critical situation he started his journey with a great belief on the guys.the fruit is now before our eyes.for his effort and try world saw that dravid also can play as a keeper.qualifying for the final in the 2003 world cup remain alive in our mind.hats of to him.such a brave work can not be done without a real hero,a fighter.sachin to dravid everybody admired his captaincy at that time.he taught us how to win overseas.
