What is happening in Syria since the last few months is most unfortunate because in the civil war between the govt troops and the rebels about fifty thousand people have been killed, many of them civilians. It has been reported that the govt has even resorted to the use of chemical weapons in some areas and if such a thing continues it will result in more casualties.
However, the Syrian conflict will not result in a world war and it will remain confined to that specific region. Countries like Britain and the US may join the war in order to bring about a military solution, but other countries, especially the European countries will remain neutral as many of them are themselves coping with a financial crisis.
