Sardar Vallabhai Patel was a born leader. He had leadership qualities in him more than Nehru. Of course, without the support of PM and cabinet, certain things could not be achieved but the Sardar was better leader than Nehru and was much favoured even for the post of first PM of independent India but he gave up only because Gandhi requested him to do so.

Jai shri ram sardar patel was bold, prudent, practical with long vision responsible for unification of 562 states out of 563 the jk was not done due to nehru!s love for sheikh abdullah.of course pm and cabinet nods and cooperation were essential actually patel would had been pm but due to blackmailing of nehru gandhiji decided otherwise.

Its one thing to speak of support and another to do, a leader is a leader, who will not even think about himself before taking a decision. Yes Sardar Patel was a LEADER and not a DEALER, like other leaders of day and he was a strong willed person who didnot care about a cabinet post or any other position

I find it proper to swap the position of sardar Patel and Nehru in ur qsn........
It was Nehru who was benefited for Sardar Patel.....hadn't he sacrificed the post of PM for Nehru the picture of Independent India would have been different.....it was Nehru who plunged India into the brink.....

None can succeed with out the support of others. It is a give and take policy to sustain ones own success.
