Is it not a fact that Abraham Lincoln from very humble backgrounds rose to become the American President mainly through his exceptional oratory skills. If so any more proof needed how important this quality is to become a true leader? Your views?
"oratory skills" skills can only be considered as One of the qualities. There are other qualities that take precedence over having good oratory skills. A leader's Leadership Quality comes out from deep within one's overall character which is observed and believed by people. Just oratorical or theatrical performance with skillful wordplay and no sincerity and honesty in one's intentions is quite noticeable and is dissected, scrutinized and analayzed ... "oratory skills" notwithstanding.
Abraham Lincoln's idea of 'no slavery' of human beings by other human beings, did have many opponents, but it was his courage to go ahead with it and his passionate conviction of the truth behind his idea, finally swayed many and many were won over to this idea.
