It depends on what is your sanctioned load if it iKW or less, then u must inform CESC

May not be necessary. But if you are having a single phase connection then it is advisable to get a three phase connection before installing an AC. Or if the meter provided is of lower load then you may be required to change the meter to handle higher load for which you may have to apply to CESC.
