Hi Kamini,
You need insurance to cover the following events: Secure the financial future of your loved ones after you; Replace the lost income of financially dependent family members; Pay off outstanding liabilities; Build a strong emergency fund for your surviving family in your absence; Fund your child's education in your absence. To know about the best insurance company in the country, you can visit http://www.policybazaar.com/ and compare various life insurance plans and their performance and make the right decision, best suited to your needs. You can also compare individual policies offered by a company, for instance http://www.aegonreligare.com/life-insurance/life-insurance-plans. php and compare plans. We hope this information was useful. Good luck!

Not necessary if you have enough money... but still if desired, as a tax saving measure, you can go for health and life insurance policies..
