Very much because there is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage.......What counts in making a happy marriage is not so much how compatible you are, but how you deal with incompatibility. .....it's a complete package ...it contains all, bodies, souls, Meanings, proofs, purities, delicacies, results, promulgations, Songs, commands, health, pride, the maternal mystery, the seminal milk, All hopes, benefactions, bestowals, all the passions, loves, beauties, delights of the earth.

Necessary--no
Preferable-yes
After all, we all need a permamnent companion in life. who would understand our emotions and stand by us when the need arises. And whatever the wolrd says Mr. Sharma, the fact reamisn that we mostly have fair weather friends.
Blessed are those who have found such compatibility and caring in their spouses and a deep regret for those who have had the misfortune of a careless one. There are both kinds of mates in this world of ours and life in itself is a gamble. You may end up winning or losing on your emotive qualities but one has to take the plunge of marriage to know their destiny- of heaven or hell and try to reform and make the spouse compatible--make that hell a more heavenly place to live in.

The noble Quran (God's word) says:-(24:32) Marry those of you that are single, (whether men or women),50
Expn.50. The word ayama is the plural of ayyim which means a single person, and is applicable to every man who is without a wife and to every woman who is without a husband.
