Q.
Is it bad to leave my TV on for extended durations? Does it depend on the brand? Mine is an LG LM7600 LED TV. I leave it on when I leave the house because my cat gets scared alone and leaving the TV on will give him a semblance that there's people around.

The biggest drawback is that it may shorten the lifespan of your TV. The life span on this model is said to be good one and i hope it won't your electricity bill as well.

Ohh just rubbish...to leave the TV on at the time of leaving the house because the cat gets scared alone and leaving the TV on will give him a semblance that there's people around...???
The Manufacture's manual says that the average life of a LED monitor is 10,000 hours....and if U leave it in on mode U count how quickly U R to part with the life of UR LED TV just to appease the pet cat.....U can leave the cat at a cretch either.....
moreover a LED TV of average size (22") consumes at least 120 watts of electricity per hour....and it also tells upon UR electricity bills....
However option/decision is URs bcz both the cat & the TV is urs......
