Yes, India has been leading the nations list in Manpower contracting due to the huge demands of its Industry development. The Infrastructure projects which have been mushrooming all over the country are the prime example of it. We have the largest workforce in the world which is working on contractual basis to fulfill the needs of their families.

NAREGA is a prime example of such employment. The prime reason for this is that not enough full time jobs are there to employ the available workforce so the contractual employment helps the companies to do so whenever the requirement arises!!

I would say, Yes. The success stories of Infosys, TCS, Wipro and the like in the IT sector underscores this simple fact. As we are all aware, the above mentioned Indian IT giants are more of a services based comapny thn a product oriented company. The mass exodus of Indians, both skiled and unskilled to the desert kingdoms in the Midle East is also a manifesation of India's contribution in man power supply.
The other developing nations in Asia, especially Pakistan, SriLanka, Philippines etc are also active in this field. I think there are more Pakistanis in Norway than Indians, skilled and unskilled combined. The Latin American countries are also great exporters of man power.
The presence of a large population of skilled and unskilled labour, and even profesionals from the poor, developing nations in Asia and Soth America in the developed countries in the Europe and in the USA is a barometer of the acute shortage of employment ...more
