The US has global strategy and does not treat any particular nations as it's enemy till that nations becomes danger to the US.
They will not launch a conventional attack on Pakistan but as we have see in case of Bin Laden raid, they will pick up certain targets which they think can cause problems to them.
For any reason, if the US needs to attack Pakistan, they will attack from the air or from the sea i.e. airforce or navy, not army.

Not very likely. We will never have another Iraq. The citizens of the U.S. made that clear enough. An attack on the U.S. would call for a response, but short of that or UN sanctions don't expect to see us going to war with Pakistan or anyone else. More to the point the UN may be seeing less and less of the US when it comes to unilateral sanctions against other countries. And perhaps with out the U.S. to lead the way into these stupid wars, the UN will find more constructive methods to diplomacy
