Sanatana Dharma is is the original name of what is now popularly called Hinduism or Hindu Dharma. The terms Hindu and Hinduism are said to be a more recent development, while the more accurate term is Sanatana Dharma. It is a code of ethics, a way of living through which one may achieve moksha (enlightenment, liberation). It is the world's most ancient culture and the socio, spiritual, and religious tradition of almost one billion of the earth's inhabitants. Sanatana Dharma represents much more than just a religion; rather, it provides its followers with an entire worldview, way of life and with a coherent and rational view of reality.

Unfortunately the invaders in the year 8th century called the residents of people living beyond SINDHU river as Hindus; which all the foreigners and Muslim invaders called us with.
The only way of life that eternal was prevalent; all followed a homogenous system of life and worshiped SHIV, SHAKTI, VISHNU, GANESH AND SOORYA; ; practiced Yog. This was the eternal style of life. but now they called us Hindus, and they called themselves as Muslims, then cam Britishers who followed Christianity, jews also came. Then Buddhism developed. Thus we are now followers of ''religions'' and not an eternal way of living; identical with Sanatan.... but due to impression of many religions we have given up our traditional way of life.... we now follow western style of life.... and most people don't know even what sanatan is.
