Dr. Man Mohan Singh will be remembered in history as the architect of India's modern economy, overall progress and second to china only in the race of 'super power' status.
Each one of the PMs you have mentioned, were trying to the best of their abilities, FOR India! Neither were ANTI India. However, today when we look back we find flaws in their handling of things. Many of which, have proved harmful for India! For example:
Nehru: - 1) Taking the Kashmir issue to the UNO (though in good faith). UNO decided on Plebiscite and it gave Pakistan a great advantage.
2) Opting for USSR as 'More Friend' than Western countries. This brought China on our backs which, ultimately temporarily got off with the help of USA (President John F. Kennedy). 3) Nehruvian Socialism. This was the bane of India's economy and brought in all sorts of controls, licences, inspector raj etc. It was discarded only in 1991 when Man Mohan Singh as FM pursuaded PM Narsimha Rao to discard it.
Lal Bahadur Shastri. ...more
