BAR is not an abbreviation out of an acronym.
There are number of applications of the word "Bar" conveying varied meanings for different zones of application. A few are the following examples.
BAR or Bar :
1. The bar (symbol bar) and the millibar (symbol mbar, also mb) are units of pressure. They are not SI units, but accepted (although discouraged) for use with the SI. The bar is still widely used in descriptions of pressure because it is about the same as atmospheric pressure. From here the word Barometer has been derived which is used for observing the air pressure in the atmosphere.

There are two bars one for lawers and other drink bar or pub or last but not the leaset is to humiliate some and remove from someposuition
