Writting in favour or against is easy.A man cant be accepted all over the world for his efforts.A man cant fool majority.Gandhi was not an office bearer to be blamed. Many were trying & he was the man whose policy clicked.Indians could not see his post-independence efforts /role as he was shot dead.

Gandhi is a on more humanbeing like us, nothing more and nothing less. What I understand is, do n't expect some superhuman behaviour from him.
What made him different from others is his experiment with truth and revealing his unseen part of the life.

Sorry in India, it seems anybody can write any thing about anyone, and in reality if a son hits his mother, we get two divergent views, one supporting that she should have been hit, and the other, that she should not have been hit., because in India, any body can get away as the laws are not that strict. I feel that Mahatma gandhiji, had really struggled for the freedom of the country, no doubt about that. and but for him we would still have been under the clutches of the british rule

He was on of the most selfish and cunning politicians of his time.He could have easily convinced the British to spare the lives of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev but he did not do so due to the fear of his own reputation being shadowed under the reputation of these three.Read Nathuram Godse's book Gandhi Vadh kyon for more details.
