That point is not new to law. Many sexual assault victims who killed the culprit or people who killed the culprit were set free by many courts in the past on this section.

In societies like the one in India,the stigma is NOT on the shameless aggressor, but on the VICTIM.
And the stigma is so huge that victims, sometimes even their parents, commit suicide. What does that mean? Ra#pe is a greater threat than threat to life! So it is only natural justice to allow her to defend a ra#pe with the same vigor as she wud defend her life. The commission was very very right!

WHAT have been RECOMMENDED by VERMA-COMMISSION are absolutely perfect & Justified, except that all verdicts M U S T be in a 3-Judge BENCH and 7-Juror system a b s o l u t e l y without "APPEAL" nuisances.
