If you really look at the reality of it, none of the neighbhouring states have been very friendly with us in the real sense of it like say U.S and Canada or some of the European nations amongst themselves.

Pakistan, there is nothing more to say here as every understands the equation between the two and it is never going to get friendly ever with the type of developments taking place in that country, which is heading towards a catastrophe with no one really in control of anything and too many powerful players batting for their own ideology and equations.

Bangladesh. Except for the brief period from 1972 to 1975 there has never been a friendly attitude towards India. Bangladesh has played host to a whole lot of sundry militant and anti-national elements who have taken refuge there and built bases from which they are able to keep their operations live in many parts of Eastern India. None of the post 1975 rulers have been ever serious in addressing the issue which is at the core of t ...more

No neighbor can be friendly with other neighbor. I learned this lesson. Because whenever there is any female presence or male presence, people cannot be friendly to each other. There will be competition to heighten the walls, just we do in our border hahahahahha.

No two nations are genuinely friendly to each other. The relations are guided by, geographic location, interest of the ruler or the nation. Bhutan has no other way but to depend on India. Nepal has two choices in India and China. Sri Lanka can hardly afford to be unfriendly. What about Pakistan. Though smaller in dimension , Pakistan is rival to India in all respect of foreign relations, like armaments to foreign trades. Maldive has a separate picture because of the distance from India.

I dont really think so because it is a very materialistic world that we live in, where the financial clout of the other is not easily appreciated though bitterly respected.
