Except imposition of Emergency, I admire Indira Gandhi. She has done a lot for the country some of which are :
1. Support to the people of former East Pakistan to create Bangladesh. No more attacks of Pakistan from two sides.
2. Abolition of Privy Purses
3. Finished Khalistanis for the time being (she was assassinated for this)
4. Authorised development of nuclear weapon in response to similar ones by China
5. Responsible for signing of the Shimla Agreement to settle problems between India and Pakistan mutually.
6. Nationalised the banks
She has been the best PM in independent India, so far.

That she was the strongest P M India has had but the emergency declared by her in 1975 was not good
