Yes, quite well pointed out by you. It is indeed true that most of us do so which is why the shift from our culture has resulted in the depletion of values amongst the youth!!

In many cases yes, I do see a lot more activities (cultural activities) going on about around me, and when I come down to India I feel a bit lost in the burger shops and pubs, something which is not a everyday thing for Indians living abroad. I get a feeling that many people who have never been to US or even outside of India are a bit ashamed of being Indians, as they haven't really known the cultures abroad. Most of all the people who return back from US visit (Parents of folks in US) are the ones which are funniest as they have a very wrong and partial picture of US and they try to live under that artificial image and distance themselves from other Indian's which is not just hilarious but at times gets a bit pityful.

These Indians love Indian culture as well as freedom of living. So, in order to keep Indian culture alive in America, they live as Indians and while they live in India, they don't feel the necessary to keep Indian culture here so they use the freedom to live as Americans. I am just joking here.
