The Infinity chilli is hotter than the Bhut Jolokia chilli, the former record holder of the Guinness book. It is used by the Indian military to make hand grenades to immobilise terrorist suspects. Recent tests by Warwick University rate the Infinity chilli at 1,067,286 on the Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) Scale which is used to measure the heat of peppers. The Bhut Jolokia chilli is measured at 1,041,427 SHU. Jalapeo measures only 2,500 to 5,000 SHU. Weapons-grade pepper spray is 2,000,000 SHU. It is 'Portugali mirchi' - Portuguese chilli. Staasha has mentioned in her answer as the chili grown in Goa about half cm in size. This shows that she knows about the chilli or must have seen it. This chilli is dried and the powder is used in 'papads'. It is also used in the curries made of certain variety of fish. Most of the Goans know about this chilli. The chilli is craze among the birds and they target these chillies more than the other varieties. These chillies are very costly and one can see a few being sold in the Panaji market for Rs.5/- or even Rs.10/- per portion of between 30 to 40 of them.

There is a type of Mirchi which is called "OOSI MULAGAI" IN TAMIL. This is a small mirchi but highly spicy. It can cause excessive purging and burning in the stomach, while urinating and also discharging bowels if consumed in excess quantities.
