IPL Kochi team and Pune team sold at Rs3200/crores. Total value of IPL team may be much higher and in lacs of crores now. Government has to incur huge expenses in providing enough infrastructures and enough security. People of India specially working class spoil their working hours to a considerable extent in watching this or that cricket match on TV. If the sponsors and buyers of IPL teams avoid investing in IPL and prefer investing the same fund in some industry, there will be addition of job opportunities. Common men will be benefited only if the same fund is invested in Hospitals, schools and colleges providing free and quality service
In a country where majority of population is unable to earn even bread and butter for survival, it is justified to spoil so many amounts on IPL and allow dirty politicians to focus on such avoidable costly game at the cost of poor Indians?
Can we not learn lessons from other developed countries like USA, UK, France, China, Japan, and Germany ...more

(1) Cricket in India is supported by BCCI, which is a private club. Govt has nothing to do with it. Even IPL is a baby of BCCI (2) This year six sportspersons got Padma Shri in the Republic Day honours. These were Ignace Tirkey (hockey), Kumar Ram Narain Karthikeyan (motor sports), Ramakant Vithal Achrekar (cricket), Saina Nehwal (badminton), Vijender Singh (boxing) and Virender Sehwag (cricket). So you can see that the govt supports deserving persons from all sports and not just cricket.
