The argument of poor against Child education and child labor issue was - the child also helps us in our livelihood, it also works and earns bread for the houise, so we cannot spare it for going to school .. hence this midday meal scheme was started... and it should be kept on running, so that number of school going children increases.

Like two faces of coin, it has also its share of pros and cons. Mid day meal scheme is reported being popular and serving the purpose of bringing plenty to school who otherwise would not have come. Secondly, it helps in providing uniform lunch to those who deserve. Only, if the scheme is managed properly - the purpose can be met more efficiently.
