There is a HUGE difference between the ra*pe of women in India and abroad.
Only in india is a stigma attached to the VICTIM. It is this that which makes ra*pe so horrific in India. Thats why ra#pe is considered more horrible than DEATH here.... some victims do commit suicide! Otherwise, if there is no murder, it is just a physical assault ... something like a dog bite!
Why a stigma here, for no fault of the victim?

R*apes occurring in those countries most often are found to be consensual s*ex ... and most often the victim is not treated violently as in India....and only those cases come under the purview of legal action wherein the so called victim is not pacified with her demands....and yes it is the product of modernization.....So the cases there can not be compared with the cases here at home....
