There are several emergency chargers available. One such device uses a pin to connect to the mobile device and has an 9v battery inside the device. This is used to charge the mobile in an emergency.
The second method, mostly applicable in Nokia handsets is to press a combination of buttons to release the emergency power that it stores. You can browser the Net to find out the combination please.
