Q.
In Tamil Nadu govt's decision to ban "Viswaroopam" for 2 weeks just a day b4 it was set 2b released is unfair. D film has been cleared by censor board. Any interference at this stage is unwarranted. If the logic for banning "Vishwaroopam" is protecting communal harmony, what about films which have explicit scenes of r*pe and violence? are not such films responsible for downgrading our society in general and inculcating immoral values in the mind of the young and our women???

I think this was strategically done for promotion of the film globally.. If TN Govt. bans this film will have restricted to smaller audience, but internationally people will just go to watch film due to this controversy.. These days Controversies are the tool of visibility.

Have you seen the movie? If not, how do u say there is no 'explicit' scenes which can corrupt the already hatred filled thought of people. Showing Violence and disgracing modesty of women in movies should be banned, but may not cause wide spread destruction to entire nation as an communal riots tend to cause. Eventually the court may release the movie after watching, then as usual what happened could turnout as a boon
