Greed has no limitations. For the sake of property, some person can go to any extent. Those who have property, insurance policies, FDs etc should make proper WILL. Son will not get anything is the WILL is made in favour of daughter or someone else in the family. The WILL can be changed depending on changing circumstances in the family/relations.

I am afraid as an oldman, this can happen to any one anywhere;
since last night i have begun to receive signals that if don't share what i have with my d/in l, i will not be respected or served anything.
the lack of well directed education and moral practices have made the modern youth so greedy.

Dear Mr. Rao,the news is unfortunate n shocking for senior citizens.But in most of these cases one would find bad parenting is responsible for this sad state of affair.
