Singapore has a population of 5 Million people only of which around 3 Million are Citizens and PR... The size of the country is smaller than Mumbai (probably Churchgate to Andheri). There is only 1 party which has been ruling the country since 45 years... So its very easy to pass a law which could be done overnight... One cannot protest in Singapore. There is a permission required from the Police and many authorities. Where as in India there would be more politicians, than the population of Singapore.

Singaporeans have a good Anti-corruption law and an agency CPIB which investigates and prosecutes corruption in public & private sectors. This is incorporated within the Prime Minister's office and reports directly to the PM.Even though CPIB website has a page on Cases of Interest,( http://app.cpib.gov.sg/cpib_new/user/default.aspx?pgID=627 ) there is no mention of the 142 arrests made in a day. There are details of the prosecution of 3 Ministers in 1966, 1975 and 1986.

Singaporeans play an important role in the development of their country and pay about 17% Income Tax. One misinformation doing the rounds here is that if the LokPal bill gets passed, we wont have to pay Income Tax. Some youngsters interviwed at Ramlila Miadan said that this bill will bring back all the money in Swiss Banks and Indians wont have to pay taxes for 20 years! Another thought that this will triple his salary.

I wonder if such misinformation is meticulously planned and generated to help in these caampaigns ...more

First of all i would like to tell that Lokpal Bill was never implemented in Singapore. It was CPIB which diminished corruption in Sigapore and it was formed after Singapore got self-government in 1959.It works like CBI in INDIA but it has been given more power and its employees get handsome salaries. Also i would to tell that unemployment rate is more than 2% in Singapore.Singapore is among 10 most expensive cities.142 corrupt ministers were never arrested as per my knowledge.I have also searched it in Goggle but i could not find it.So i think this message is totally wrong and it tries to fool innocent people.

Are you sure of this fact, There is nothing Cheap in Singapore, people have to work here till there limbs move, you need to book maternity home child care 2 years in advance or atleast by the time you know you are pregnant otherwise on delivery day you may have a waiting of above 400; everyone has to pay 7 % GST in Singapore.... Maruti Swift is worth INR 40 Lacs. Dude Lokpall bill will definitely help but we dont want India to become Singapore!
