Install solar water heaters which is most popular and relatevely economial for saving large electrical energy otherwise required for elelectrical heaters.
Rooms should be designed to get maximum natural light .
Install CFL for all lighting points
Use solar street lights and garden lights.
If finance is available install SOLAR PANELS on roof top to generate electricity for part requirement of house.
All electrical equipments like refrigrator, Air Conditioner ,washing machine etc. should be energy efficient.
