There is no other way but to deposit it with the Police. If, there is any slightest hint of indecision, one should clear it because possessing such colossal amount of hard foreign currency, without valid documents is big offence under FEMA. Secondly, the proverb is so correct..... easy comes easy goes. ..... thirdly, it is not border area that many varieties of foreign currency are accepted. Of course the police would harass by interrogation, but it is much better to face than trying to make fool of others. At least my hitting the headlines next morning is guaranteed. May be, get opportunities to give bytes to channels or participate in panel discussion on" necessity of honesty in public life."
