The tourism industry in India is substantial and vibrant, and the country is fast becoming a major global destination. Indias travel and tourism industry is one of them most profitable industries in the country, and also credited with contributing a substantial amount of foreign exchange. This is illustrated by the fact that during 2006, four million tourists visited India and spent US $8.9 billion. .
It is gradually increasing year by year.

In tourism pleasure activity like adventure, alcohol, sex , and market for goods matter. Thailand, Malaysia have flourished due to these abundant availability. People go to europe for tour to see preserved historical monuments and comfort of living. Australiya for adventure and alcohol. In India it is mixed with all so tourists will come but many of the pleasure activity are un licensed so there is a danger always with tourists.

Tourism may be a good earner, but not the biggest!
India has to work very hard to improve the quality of tourism.

It does earn foreing exchang notbrcause of place but for the long histotical culture fo the people dwelling >But as forforeing currecncy matter this is notthe main thing but number people staying abroad and ivestion money in our country is the main stream Like about twenty years back lerala it self was getting 1 milloin dollar every day and u can imagin for whole country what shud be teh exchange without an y suppley of material or no tax deductions and expenses that is biggets exchnge we get
