The Academy Awards popularly known as the Oscars are undoubtedly the most prestigious in all awards. It is awarded by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
The Golden Globe Awards are given to all the forms of media, but Academy Awards are given only to the motion pictures (including both documentary & animation feature films). Yes, in case of Oscars separate awards are given to writer(s), an original music score, cinematography and screenplay. Posthumous nominations and awards are common in both Golden Globes and Oscars.
