Of course, yes. However, without consent of Sita he could not marry her and there lied the hurdle for Ravan. We need to appreciate Ravan for not using coercion tactics and not raping her like present day 'Ravans' do.

It would have been better for Sita. She would not have to go on Vanvas Season 2. She would have stayed in a palace and lived like a queen. Even if she did not want to marry Ravan, she could have at least had a live in relationship with Ravan and lived happily ever after.

Not just that, if Ravana would have won the battle, today, we would be worshipping Sri.Ravana Instead of Sri.Rama!
