Obsession with perfection is a defense mechanism. Human beings employ defense mechanisms, compulsions, neurotic habits, extreme behaviors as a way to avoid feeling the discomforting emotions, which flood our system in times of stress, rejection or loneliness...!

You are perfectly right to say that Nobody Is Perfect. As far as the remaining portion of your statement, i feel there is a misconception. A Match is a Perfect match when the shortcomings of one are covered by the expertise or the knowledge of the other. In short ,A Perfect Match is always a Match of imperfect persons where the imperfection is not exposed to the public.

True. No one is perfect. A fact of this world is nothing repeat nothing can ever be perfect. Yet, it is the human tendency is to look for a match in terms of money, status, beauty, emotion and in some cases obedience etc. Those who seek that don't know what exactly they are seeking. To seek something which can't be explained by them truthfully, is what we tend to do in the good hope that something near and close to reasonable mental, monitory and emotional suitability combined with physical excellence might come up. Actually, if something perfect happen to emerge, we won't recognize it and most probably reject the same as too much perfect.
