What happens when it' s the same song you wrote for yourself and now played in public by some one you will never dig out?

I had a GF of 3 years who left me. And I'd written a song that reminds me of our time together, and the years of pain I went through after it was over. It's called "Butter & Fly . It's my most popular song, and was actually played on radio. I dont know how its there. But every time I play it - it hurts me.
