If I cant converse in English among you , will you doubt my academic level ?

Not at all! I have a friend who is a post-graduate (MA). He is not good in English. Most of his studies were in Hindi medium. Knowledge of English, specially fluency in conversation in English does not determine the academic levels of people.

Absolutely not. But your doubt is emanated from a general perception our people are holding, an english speaking person is educated. English also is a language just like any other language. If a person is fluent in Hindi and not in english, he can very well be an educated. Your fear is natural because an english educated person when speaks a broken Hindi, we admire and don't blame him for bad language.

The mastery in any language is necessary for orators...
its preferable alwqys to use a language one speaks fluently ..knows better...
otherwise the basics of the communication is lost or tends to get distorted...
but that does not mean that fluency in English determines academic competency...
majority of our schools are in the local medium and conversation is limited to the local dialect...
such persons are poor in English even after they attain major Academic Qualifications...
hence this can never be a criteria for academic level determination !

Human brain understands all sincere communications and it has a phenomenal power of mind . Both life and business don't run by Oxfordians , IIT's and IIM's ..it's the umadmi , common public who runs the show . For them any language , hindi ,inglish , hinglish are ok if communication is sincere. I'm not telling that we should not make it improved but in our day to day life ,it's emotional communication , rather than hi- fi communication , that works much better .I haven many top academicians are extremely poor in communicating in English
