Yes no doubt, and please note that the kings didnot rule the state, they termed themselves as vassals of the presiding diety and ruled as if they were appointees of the diety - just like Bharat ruled ayodhya in absence of Lord Rama

Definitely - knowing that a treasure exists there (though might not have known the amount), and not touching it definitely deserves appreciation both for the temple authorities as well as the descendents of Travancore Royal family ! Truly great indeed. My salutes to them !
