There are two kinds of currency used in Myanmar, FEC and Kyat.
Kyat is the local currency pronounced as "Chat". Official rate of exchange is 1 USD epual to about 6 Kyats but the market rate is 1 USD epual to around 1000 Kyats.
FEC is the currency mainly meant to be used by tourist. 1 FEC is equavelent to 1 USD.
